i was should on

2010 July 23

dear questers…

have you ever been should-ed on?

have you ever considered the moralizing features of language?

in this visual essay, i explore these questions from a ‘wild self’ perspective…

‘i was should on’ is the third of three visual essays looking into everyday communication from a ‘wild self’ perspective…

the other two visual essays are– ‘less talk, more resolution’ and ‘the I dump’

for the wild,

Thank you for the insight. I have viewed being “should-ed upon” as an implied command. This is much more productive.

    thank you for the reply…

yes, in many ways, it is an 'implied command'… depending on context, these can be more frustrating than an explicit command… overall, i am glad you found resonance in the message…

    for the wild,
